You will learn basic grooming with high quality hands on instruction. The ultimate goal for the student is successful completion of the program and have skill based experience that will support the student's goals for the future.
Applicants must be 18 years of age and completed high school or have a GED. No prior experience or training is required. Students should be able to read and comprehend the school manual and answer written questions.
No prior experience. Students must be able to lift 30 lbs and be able to stand for a continuous 8 hours a day. You will be required to have a tetanus shot and complete Emergency medical form.
To enroll, the student must submit an application along with a $100.00 registration fee, which is non-refundable after 5 business days from mailed date of application.
You will be required to have a personal interview with director.
We encourage the prospective students to visit our facilities before enrolling.
Students are required to read, study, research, and keep notes. There will be written tests along with hands on test. The instruction program will also have video to be watched.
Students must follow all policies and regulations as previously stated. Failure to follow may result in termination.
Students are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times.
Foul language, possession of unprescribed drugs or alcoholic beverages. Disrespectful behavior is not permitted and will result in dismissal. Theft of other student property or the school will result in dismissal.
Treatment of animals-
Under no circumstance will a student be allowed to physically abuse an animal.
All students are responsible for cleaning and sanitation of their tools, cages, bathing room and work station.
The following will result in disciplinary action, including suspension or dismissal
The school will keep student records for 5 years.
All graduation records will be keep permanently.
The student is graded on a daily professional performance and demonstration of skills, test and final written exam and they ability to groom 4 different breeds to standard without instructor help. Overall participation is also considered in the grading process. These will be combine to form students grade point average.
A graduation certificate is issued to a student who has finished his/her classes with a 70% or higher. Every student is evaluated and notified of his/her progress thought program.
If a student’s grade point average falls below 70% he/she will be place on probation for a period of 2 weeks. Any student that remains under 70% during or after the probationary period will be subject to termination. If a student is dismissed for unsatisfactory progress, a re-entrance exam and demonstration of skill must be completed satisfactory before re-enrollment may occur. Any additional repetition the student requires will be charged to the student at an hourly rate of the program and at the availability of space in the class.
A student may make a written request for consultation with the director at any given time. If a complaint is not resolved a student has the right to direct the problem or complaint to the
